Deborah Evans, CEO

Deborah Evans is the CEO of For Children’s Sake of Virginia (FCSVA). A graduate of Catholic University with a Master’s degree in Social Work, she has worked extensively with children and families since 1992. Deborah came to For Children’s Sake of Virginia with a professional background in finance and is a veteran of the USMC. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Board Certified Diplomate, a Certified Sex Offender Specialist (CSOTS), a Certified Sex Offender Addictions Specialist, a Certified PTSD Treatment Specialist as well as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. Deborah has a significant background in working with family and individual trauma both through her work at foster care agencies and in her private practice. She loves to ride her road and trail bikes on the weekends and participates in long distance organized rides. She enjoys time with her beloved family, friends and pets and loves to travel as often as she can.

Kelley Willis, Executive Director

​Kelley attended George Mason University for her undergraduate degree and Virginia Commonwealth University for her master’s degree in Social Work. Kelley has worked with children and families for over 15 years and has been with For Children’s Sake of Virginia since 2006. While in graduate school, Kelley had an internship with a Therapeutic Foster Care agency and fell in love with the work. Kelley has been a case manager, supervisor and now a director with FCSVA and plans to continue to help the agency grow and succeed.  Kelley enjoys being outdoors, exercising, spending time with her husband and three children, traveling to new places with friends and family and listening to music.

Joan Luo, Financial Coordinator

Joan has 15 years of experience with increasing responsibilities within the financial accounting field.  Joan has helped driving the business applications strategy group as our agency has been growing. She provides excellent support to our county client accounts.  She also has volunteered as accountant for her church for more than 15 years. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family for traveling, golfing, skiing.

Charlotte Gallant, Digital Marketing Specialist

Charlotte completed her Master’s degree at George Mason University, and came to FCS after working at the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children. She’s also had volunteering experience working with youth and adults experiencing mental illness,  developmental delays, and homelessness. When she’s not at work, Charlotte likes spending time with her friends, family, cat, and puppies, and enjoys traveling, reading, and learning other languages. She loves helping share FCS’s incredible work!

Courtenay Buckeley, Case Manager

Courtenay graduated from University of Lynchburg, formally known as Lynchburg College, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. Prior to working at FCSVA, she was a Family Service Specialist in a local Virginia Department of Social Services that case managed foster care children. Courtenay recently moved to the Northern Virginia area and continued to expressed a desire to continue to work in the social welfare field and to work more directly along the foster families that ensures the safety, permanency, and happiness of the children that walk through her life. Outside of work, Courtenay spends her time with her partner and their two cats, listening to podcasts, creating art projects, and finding new video games to play.

Corie Peterson, Compliance Coordinator

Corie graduated from George Mason University with a Master of Social Work degree. Corie has had internships throughout her undergraduate and graduate schooling which gave her lots of experience working with children and families. Corie was adopted at a young age and this has been a reason for her persuing a career in the child welfare field. Corie enjoys traveling, going out to eat and hanging out with friends and family. Corie is excited to be a part of the FCS family!

Kammi Sharpe, Case Manager

Kammi has a BA Degree from George Mason University. Before joining us, she ran an in home state licensed daycare while she stayed at home to raise her three kids. Kammi has over nineteen years of experience working and caring for children of all ages. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, volunteering with her daughter’s Job’s Daughters International youth group, and The International Order for the Rainbow for Girls. She is very excited to share all her experience with our families.

Lisa Jaffe, Case Manager

Lisa graduated from Shepherd University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a Criminal Justice concentration. She has previously worked as a Therapeutic day Treatment counselor and community based counselor with the National Counseling Group. It is her passion for working with children that has driven her to volunteer as a Girls on the Run coach as well as intern for many organizations such as BEST Kids and Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless. In her free time, Lisa enjoys traveling, reading, watching movies, hiking and playing with her dog. She is very excited to use her experience to help the children and families with FCS and be a part of the FCSVA team.

Fran Berry, Administrative Assistant

Fran Berry, our new Administrative Assistant, comes to us bringing 9 years of experience in office management and administration.  She most recently worked at a non-profit which secured sustainable housing for those in need.  She attended James Madison University majoring in Dress Design with minors in Art and Business Administration.  In her off hours, Fran loves to knit and read.

Maxine Eber, MSW Intern

Maxine Eber is a Master’s candidate at George Mason University’s School of Social Work.  Prior to this, she worked in Global Health, working primarily for programs in Africa and Asia.  In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband and 4 children, travelling, and reading. She is thrilled to be at FCSVA.

Regina Ellison, MSW Intern

Regina is getting her Masters degree at George Mason University and received a degree in history from West Virginia University. Regina likes going to concerts and taking day trips to the beach.

Lauren Sexton, MSW Intern

Lauren received a degree in Social Work from GMU last May and is now working on her Masters! She hopes to continue working with foster care after graduation and loves spending time with family.
