FCS’s Intensive In-Home Services exist to strengthen families to preserve the placement of children with their family and facilitate a child’s return from foster care, residential treatment, group home or psychiatric hospitalization. Services provided throughout Northern Virginia and are set up to be intensive (3-10 hours a week) and short-term (3-6 months).

What are Intensive In-Home Services?

Intensive In-Home services exist to strengthen families through education, counseling, and support by providing intensive and short term therapeutic services. Home based services help to preserve the placement of children with their family, or facilitate a child’s return home from foster care, a residential program, a group home or a psychiatric hospital. Services include a family systems, strength based approach and include: individual/family counseling, crisis management, parenting skills, behavior modification, connection to community resources, education, advocacy and support.

How long do services last?

Our counselors provide intensive services, meeting with the client for 3-10 hours per week for short-term therapeutic services generally lasting 3-6 months.

Where are sessions held?

Intensive In-Home Services are generally provided in the home environment. However, some sessions may be held in the community or in one of our offices, based on the needs and goals of the client/family.

What are your hours?

Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, we offer Intensive In-Home sessions in the evenings and weekends as well. These hours vary depending on the counselor assigned. FCS observes all federal holidays and is therefore closed on the following days: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday, Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Do you accept insurance?

FCS accepts a variety of insurance types, including Anthem, Magellan, and Aetna. Please call 703-817-9890 for more information regarding additional insurance coverage and pricing. In the event that your insurance is not accepted, FCS accepts multiple forms of payment for services, including: VISA, MasterCard, cash and check.
